Notes from Scott: Welcome back everyone, you did a great job on tour
and then Homecoming was amazing! I personally want to thank all of
you singers for signing the framed group picture -- it will always be a
treasure to me. (And thanks Mary Beth for your efforts).
I've added a quotes page to
capture some of the comments Bemo passed along. If you're
hearing great quotes, either from the kids or audience members, let me
know and I'll try to get them added.

Pictures from Tour (most recent on top)
Homecoming, August 11th: A quick note about Homecoming pictures --
they sometimes get a bit repetitive, but the many expressions are hard
to pass up when presented by such passionate members of New G. Also, I
only have one or two angles to take pictures from, and sometimes that
means I don't get good close-ups of everyone, I don't mean to leave
anyone out! So, the pictures...

Day 14, Friday, August 10th,
Pictures. "Here are a few
pics from the last few days. There are some shots from Sea World, "Twin
Day", the Kennedy Space Center and our private talent show. The last few
days have been busy with much sightseeing performing - and the
performance tonight was really great.
The kids are excited to be heading home-home. We'll
give out tour awards and have our last tour worship in the morning - and
then we head west!
See you all Saturday at 5 p.m." -- Bemo
Day 13, Thursday, August 9th. More pictures from Singers'
cameras...(if more of you singers have pictures you'd like to share, get
them to me by email or at a future rehearsal.

Day 12, Wednesday, August 8th. I haven't heard anything from Bemo
about yesterday, but I am slowly catching up on pictures from the kids.
So, here is a starter set from...
Kendra Sowers
Brad Davidson
Andy Zeiler
Keep in mind, you may start to see similar pictures from different cameras
and they will involve smaller groups of people, and sometimes I have no
idea what's in them either! Lastly, when you see far-away shots of a
glowing object in the dark, that's a rocket launch on August 4th that a
few happened to see, not the Shuttle. (The Shuttle eventually went up a
day after the group was at Kennedy.)
I have also added some captions to Day 10
pictures. And I have more work to do on singers' pictures and videos
both from home and on the road.
Day 11, Tuesday, August 7th. Still no time to edit captions, but
I'm working on lots of stuff I got on tour, including pictures from many
of the singers. For now, treat yourself to a great video from Josh and
Brandt here.
Day 10, Monday, August 6th,
Pictures: For now, I'm just
going to get some pictures uploaded from yesterday. I just got home from
Orlando this morning (Tuesday) and haven't had time to add comments,
etc. But I DO have a BUNCH more pictures and videos I'll be adding
tonight and later this week.
Day 9, Sunday, August 5th, Pictures:
Set 1 and
Set 2: WOW, a big day of
performances -- three this morning and one this evening -- but all great
and very meaningful.
Day 8, Saturday, August 4th,
Pictures: Surprise! This
report comes to you from me, Scott, FROM Florida! I flew down last night
to hook up with the group for a few days as a surprise. I'm not able to
go on a full tour (maybe in future years), but I was able to make a
three day trip work. And darn the luck, I'll have to go to Sea World and
Disney World! I'm also looking forward to tomorrow's four performances.
I also took some video on a small digital camera
(no tripod) of several things at Sea World.
Here is the video
of Shamu's big, and I do mean BIG entrance. I hope to add more videos
soon.
Day 7 - I don't think there's anything specific to Friday.
Day 6, Thursday, August 2nd,
Pictures: "Well...we had a
real challenge today. The city power went out right before our
performance. We rolled in a real piano from the social hall and went
ahead. I told the kids that how we did it in the "old days"!
After about 30 minutes, the power came back on and we
kept going. The kids did a nice job even though it was a difficult
circumstance.
We finally get to sleep in and will go to the beach
tomorrow. We're praying for nice weather. It's been raining the last few
days.
We also hope to have a worship service for ourselves
tomorrow night. I'll let you know...
Day 5, Wednesday, August 1st,
Pictures: "Here are
pics from Wesley Chapel. The performance was great. This church had an
exceptional challenge in that their fire sprinkler system broke last
week flooding their sanctuary. They moved the performance to their
social hall and we all had a great time. Again the kids did a great job.
Many got a chance to get some "beach time" with their
hosts. There also some pics from "fun time" on the bus!"
Day -6, Sunday, July 22nd:
Pictures.
In lieu of an update, these are some pictures I forgot I had from the
final meeting Sunday night before tour. Scott.
Day 4, Tuesday, July 31st:
Pictures. "Wow!
Tonight's performance was the best so far. There were tears from the
singers and the church members (me too).
The sanctuary was packed and the people were very
energetic. The kids responded by giving 'the' performance so far on
tour.
What we didn't know was, this church has been
struggling to fund a new youth/family center. Get this...to be able to
host groups like ours! They are now confident they will GET 'ER DONE and
hope NG can be one of the first groups to perform in it!
Hopefully, tonight we'll all get some needed rest and
do it again tomorrow. This city is right on the Gulf and we should have
a very scenic trip tomorrow."
Day 2 BONUS:
Pictures. "Here are some performance pics from the performance in
Evansville, IN. They come from Mike Nelson (our truck driver).
The trip today was nice. It rained a little which
kept the heat down. We've arrived at the church early so we have some
time to practice. The church sanctuary is round and has a lot of natural
wood finish. It's very different and pretty - but it presents a
challenge to our normal set up.
The kids saw the Gulf of Mexico on the drive in and are
hoping they may have a pools at their host homes. I'm just hoping for a
nice bed! Tomorrow we'll head across the state of Florida."
Day 3, Monday July 30th:
Pictures "It was pajama day today. We didn't sing last night -
so it was a goof off day. Unfortunately, there was an accident on the
highway which caused us to lose an hour and then we took a detour (got
lost) in Atlanta and we lost an hour due to a time zone change. The
short story is we arrived at the hotel late and couldn't swim in the
pool. We also had to 'order in'. But, the kids made the best of it."
Day 2, Sunday, July 29th:
Pictures. "Woops. Today
slipped by without many pics. The kids gave a great performance tonight
in Evansville, IN. We also had some parents surprise us! Tomorrow we're
off to Atlanta and the kids get a night off. So far, their performances
have been great.
I predict they'll begin to get tired these next
couple of days. They always have to find out for themselves that they
can't stay up late every night and still keep up with the rigors of
tour. We'll see...
I'll try to get some fun pics tomorrow. It's
pajama day!!"
Day 1, Saturday, July 28th:
Pictures from Bemo. "Here
are photos from day one. We performed the informal on Saturday night and
then the Sermon in Song on Sunday morning. The kids have had great
energy and are sounding great. Thankfully, the first couple of days have
been uneventful."
Day 1: Send off Pictures
from me (Scott) of the Send-off at Ashland church.
Note: Everything below the line is pre-tour stuff, be sure to check it out
sometime, and of course note the schedule.

Introduction
Every year during the last week of July and the first week
of August, The New Generation Singers take a "little" road trip to a
region of the United States. We perform a concert most nights and two
concerts on Sundays. Tour is open to any member of The New Generation
Singers who has successfully completed his or her fundraising goal or
alternatives, and who has regularly attended rehearsals and sing-outs, and
is proficient in the music in which we will be performing. In addition,
Singers have the opportunity to sing solo or in a small ensemble or play
an instrumental solo between songs during an informal part of our
performances while on tour.
