AN UPDATE (as of Monday morning): I know it's been quiet on this page, but it's because *I* spent the weekend in New York with New G! It was a last minute decision to go, but I had a credit with Delta Airlines and this seemed like the time to use it. I plan to write a detailed account of the weekend - everything from traffic jams to Times Square to celebrity sightings - but for now, here are some basic highlights...

-- New York and the surrounding area is crazily huge!

-- The New G kids gave what I'm told was their best performance Friday night - they were hot. And they sang well too! Yes, in Lewisburg, PA, there was no air-conditioning in the sanctuary, unless you count the fire department mega-fan which was too loud to use during the service. I would think it was at least 85 in the church, but the kids didn't complain - instead, they sang their hearts out, again.

-- I heard nothing but compliments from the sponsors about how well the kids were doing on the road - always on-time, friendly and supportive.

-- The Broadway show (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying) was GREAT! Of course I was paying close attention to the technology, but that never over-shadowed the talent of the actors and dancers. How they put that much energy into eight performances a week is astounding. (But come to think of it, so do the New G kids!)

-- You will eventually hear stories about how long it took to get back to the hotel after the show; we got out of the theater at 11:00 p.m., most of us got to bed at 3:00 a.m. I think it was about a 10 mile distance! That's what happens when the main bridge you need is closed for construction (which accounts for the first 2 1/2 hours of traffic), then you have to find a route that an 11' 10" tall bus can navigate without taking the top off.

-- Then the performance at Beulah Church of the Nazarene Sunday morning was another memorable event - and I do mean event, bordering on marathon! (I'll never again complain about a seven minute sermon by my hometown pastor back in Kansas)!

Ok, this is already longer than I intended. I have plenty of pictures and video, but it's going to take me awhile to catch up, so please stay tuned!  Scott

Summer Sing-Outs

CLICK HERE for Sing-Out schedule and pictures

For those of you unfamiliar with Sing-Outs: this is when New G performs
at area churches most Sunday morning and evenings leading up to tour.
It's a great way for you to see and hear New G.

Tour Introduction

Every year during the last two weeks of July, The New Generation Singers take a road trip to a region of the United States. We perform a concert most nights and two concerts on Sundays. Tour is open to any member of The New Generation Singers who has successfully completed his or her fundraising goal or alternatives, and who has regularly attended rehearsals and sing-outs, and is proficient in the music in which we will be performing. In addition, Singers have the opportunity to sing solo or in a small ensemble or play an instrumental solo between songs during an informal part of our performances while on tour.
